Peat Rigg - March Residential

Such a terrific 2 days! This year the children went to a new residential venue in North Yorkshire and got to try many new experiences. The children were involved with heating the centre and making their own beds, as well as zip-wire, low ropes, night walk (won by Team Victory), tree climbing, bush craft, archery and team building. The children were so well behaved and it was amazing to see them having such fun and trying new activities, like drinking 'Pine' Tea! The only disappointing time was when we left!

Temple visit - 21.11.13

To supplement work done during R.E. week, both Year 5 classes visited a local temple to find out more about how Hindus practise their faith in a house of worship. They got to look at artifacts, try traditional clothing garments and learn about Hindu Gods and marital ceremonies.

DT with our space buggies.

To support work in Maths and learning about nets and 3D shapes and to link with our topic work on Space, the children have been using Techcards and other materials to create their own 3D space buggies. This was done after a taeching session on nets of shapes and use of Clixi.

BURT

As part of our topic work on Space, the children really enjoyed an astrophysicist visiting the class and teaching them how to use a telescope to take their very own pictures of space.
